Jungle Disk 2.0-A Big Step Forward

We’ve written before about a variety of ways to interact with data on Amazon’s S3 service, including my favorite, Jungle Disk. This week, they released Jungle Disk 2.0, which offers substantial improvements over the previous version. New features include an improved and streamlined user interface, support for more flexible encryption and streaming, support for multiple backup jobs, and fine-grained control over how many versions of a file to keep on the server. I’ve also noticed much faster start-up times on my Mac Pro.

Jungle Disk has become an integral part of my backup strategy, giving me easily-accessible offsite backups at a server farm that I trust. Pricing remains at $20, plus $1 per month for the optional Jungle Disk Plus service, which includes upload resume and web-based access. Version 2.0 is a free upgrade for existing users, and there’s a 30-day trial.
